Consciously considered cultivation system
We believe that working with nature is better for people, the environment and the quality of our products. For us, cooperation with nature starts in the soil. The soil life, nutrients and organic matter must be in balance to provide the ultimate nutritious environment for cultivating our crops.

BOTS
Our products are grown according to the proprietary cultivation system BOTS, with an emphasis on the environment and the biodiversity of the surrounding area. Bees and other insects are of great importance for our cultivation. 1% of the area is therefore used by us for field edges and meadows full of flowers and herbs. We have also placed insect hotels at our cultivators to stimulate pollinators. Just look around you in the Netherlands, who knows you will see the hotels and colorful flower meadows at our cultivators!
Our cultivation system goes a step further than others. It is an umbrella system in which other quality marks, such as PlanetProof, are included and considered ‘normal’.
On the way to PlanetProof
For years we have been cultivating under the quality mark PlanetProof and fortunately we see that this quality mark is nowadays more and more top-of-mind with retailers and consumers. This independent certification shows that our products are produced more sustainably and are therefore a better choice for nature, climate and animals.
Some of the requirements for meeting this mark are, for example, the use of high quality water, a fertile soil and cleaner air and more nature on the farms. In this way, the products that are cultivated can grow as sustainably as possible. The result is not only purer products, but also a great contribution to the environment. What we do now, we will see back later.

Nutri-score
A Nutri-score allows products to score from A to E. Each score has a color. Score A is for products with the healthiest composition and has a green color. Score E is for products with the least healthy composition and has a red color. The score is based on the amount of calories, sugars, saturated fat, salt, protein, fiber, fruit, vegetables and nuts in a product. At Jansen-Dongen we strive for healthy, sustainable products. We start with that already in the breeding process with the choice of new, improved varieties.
